Baby sold on Facebook: Possibly sold twice in India before final deal met

Baby sold on Facebook: Possibly sold twice in India before final deal met, When the phrase "baby sold on Facebook" starts trending, than that means things are just getting out of hand in the world. A report from Yahoo India News on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, tells of a newborn Indian baby that was sold to a businessman for Rs 800,000. As if that wasn't bad enough, the baby was sold on Facebook.

Believe it or not, some reports state that the baby was sold twice before the final deal was agreed upon on Facebook. The child, born in a Ludhiana hospital, was sold on Facebook by the infant's grandfather. He actually told his daughter that the baby was stillborn, but then sold the child to a nurse for Rs 45,000..REPORTED

From there, the nurse took the child to a hospital attendant and sold the baby for Rs 300,000. At that point, the hospital attendant put the child up for sale one more time and sold the baby on Facebook.

Facebook is where the businessman, based out of Delhi, finished off the sale to take "ownership" of the infant.

There was a police raid at the businessman's home and that resulted in the recovery of the baby sold on Facebook. Police believe that this is only the beginning of a huge child-trafficking issue and they believe that there are tens of thousands of children trafficked out of India every single year.

The raid on the businessman's home ended up bringing about the arrests of five different people involved in the multiple deals for the baby. Those arrests include the grandfather and one more person that was unnamed.
