Dzhokhar tried to kill himself before arrest by Boston police, On Sunday, April 21, it appears that bombing suspect Dzhokhar tried to kill himself before being taken injured but alive by Boston authorities on Friday evening. The arrest of the 19-year-old suspect capped off a terrorizing five day manhunt for the individuals who are suspected of planting two bombs at the Boston marathon finish line.
When Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found alive in a boat in a backyard of a Watertown home, he was badly injured. Blood covered the boat, and when authorities rushed him to a local hospital hoping that his life could be saved in order to answer questions, police feared that his injuries were so severe that he wouldn’t actually be able to talk.
So what happened? How was Dzhokhar injured, exactly?
According to sites like Gawker and the Daily News, it’s believed that Dzhokhar may have actually tried to kill himself prior to being captured by authorities. While it’s not known for sure, it’s believed that Dzhokhar may have tried to commit suicide due to two facts.
One, Dzhokhar was found with a bullet wound in his neck. And two, a bullet hole within the boat was found once Dzhokhar was captured. Based on an investigation on-the-scene, it’s believe that the bullet was fired at close range, leading some authorities to believe that Dzhokhar may have tried to take his own life rather than be taken alive.
Tsarnaev remains inside a Boston hospital. He’s said to be in stable but critical condition. As of now, no further word on his condition has been released.
