The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones, Basketball fans may not mind: The Rolling Stones have pushed back their 50 and Counting tour opener in Los Angeles by a day because of the NBA playoff schedule. The rockers will now start the tour on May 3rd at Staples Center in Los Angeles, the band posted on Facebook.

Although the Stones had been scheduled to kick off the tour May 2nd, that date would coincide with Game Six of a first-round playoff matchup between the L.A. Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs, should the best-of-seven series reach that far...REPORTED

The Rolling Stones' 50 and Counting tour, set to visit 10 North American cities in May and June, follows a brief run of performances last fall in London, Brooklyn and Newark, New Jersey.

Although the band kept the new dates well under wraps until an announcement earlier this month, the musicians have said it was a foregone conclusion the group would continue to perform. "We kind of knew it was bound to happen," guitarist Keith Richards said.

The band's shows last year featured special guests including Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and Lady Gaga. Though nothing has been announced for the next round of shows, the Stones haven't ruled it out, either.

"I have a feeling there's more openness about playing it the same way," Richards said. "I can't name names or make promises, but that area of the show is open."
