Best man fatally stabs bride: Possible campaign fraud looked at as motive, There is some sad news out of Raleigh, North Carolina, as UPI.com reports of a tragic story that gave the phrase "best man stabs bride" a chance to start trending. As reported on April 25, 2013, Democratic political strategist Jamie Hahn died early on Wednesday morning from stab wounds sustained by the best man at her wedding, Jonathan Broyhill.

Hahn's husband, Nation Hahn, also sustained wounds in the attack.

The 31-year-old Broyhill was charged with the murder of the 29-year-old Hahn. Broyhill was receiving treatment at a hospital for self-inflicted wounds, but would then be transferred to the jail. It is said that Hahn questioning Broyhill over possible political campaign fraud was the reason for the attack.

Reports say that Broyhill was having dinner with the Hahn family earlier this week. Nation Hahn left the room for a few minutes, and when he returned, he found Broyhill, his former best man, stabbing his wife.

Nation Hahn took to Twitter to express his grief:

“I lost my best friend last night. The sadness is overwhelming … I want to thank everyone for prayers for Jamie. That type of community spirit defined Jamie. I have no idea what I am going to do without Jamie. She was my center, my rock and my soul mate.”

Police have not revealed an actual motive for the attack as of yet, but they do insist that it was not "domestically related." The reports of Broyhill's possible campaign fraud comes from those close to the investigation and say he possibly wished to conceal fraudulent transactions involving the funds of clients.
