Misspelling allowed Tamerlan Tsarnaev to slip through FBI's system

Misspelling allowed Tamerlan Tsarnaev to slip through FBI's system, There has been some speculation as to how Tamerlan Tsarnaev who allegedly carried out the bombings at the Boston Marathon pulled off his crimes while being on the FBI's watch list. However that question may now be answered. According to a report published by CBS News on April 22, it was caused by a simple spelling error.

CBS news reports that Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Tsarnaev's name was misspelled during his 2011 trip to Russia, so his real name never went into the FBI's system.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev (26) who was killed in a shootout with law enforcement on Thursday, April 18 and his 19-year-old brother Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev who is now in police custody are suspected in the April 15 bombings near the finish line at the Boston Marathon. There were three people killed and more than 170 injured in those blasts. Officials also alleged that the brothers shot and killed MIT Patrol Officer Sean Collier on April 19.
