Musician Amanda Palmer writes poem for Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

Musician Amanda Palmer writes poem for Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Amanda Palmer, who raised over $1 million on Kickstarter and was nominated for an MTVu Woodie Award, has written a poem on her blog for the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, entitled “A Poem for Dzhokhar,” according to BuzzFeed.

The controversial artist has taken heat for the piece both on her blog and on Twitter, but has also received praise from some readers.

Some parts of the poem read, “you don’t know how precious your iphone battery time was until you’re hiding in the bottom of a boat” and “you don’t know how to get away from your f****** parents,” as well as, “you don’t know how to make sense of this massive parade,” and “you don’t know how come people run their g****** knees into the ground anyway.”

She also writes, “you don’t know how to mourn your dead brother,” and “you don’t know how to drive this car.”

The poem ends with “you don’t know the way to new york” repeated four times.

One of Palmer’s blog commenters wrote about the post, “This isn’t a poem for Dzjokhar, it’s a poem for yourself… This just makes you the CNN of poets,” while another supported the musician’s words, and said, “I cannot ‘like’ this enough. You’ve perfectly expressed what I’ve been feeling… I wish I could print this out and put it through every letterbox on the planet.”

The marathon bombing took place Monday, killing three and injuring over 170 others. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, also suspected in the bombing, died Thursday night after a confrontation with law enforcement.

Prior to the shootout with police, authorities say the brothers carjacked a Mercedes SUV and told the driver they were the Marathon bombers.

Tsarnaev was discovered in a boat that was in the backyard of a Watertown, Mass. family’s home. He reportedly had a number of injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.

ABC tweeted earlier on Sunday that according to law enforcement sources, Tsarnaev is awake and responding to questions from authorities.

The tweets note he is “responding sporadically in writing to questions” asked of him and that he is being questioned about whether he is part of a terrorist cell and if there are other cell members. They are also asking if there are any other unexploded bombs anywhere.
