Top notch Houston chefs ready to share secrets in upcoming cooking classes, One of the great things about attending a cooking class/demonstration is not only getting to eat fabulous food, but also the chance to leave with fascinating techniques, expert advice and recipes to die for. Houston chefs have all this and more in numerous cooking adventures awaiting avid learners starting on April 27.

PAELLA AT PESCA
On Saturday, April 27, Alberto Alfonzo, chef/owner of Pesca World Seafood at 2015-J West Gray, will host a Paella cooking class from 12-3 p.m. Cost is $20 per person plus tax and gratuity and includes a serving of Paella and glass of Alfonzo’s signature White Ginger and Mint Sangria. Alfonzo is ready to share the secret behind excellent Paella. “Guests have been asking me what are my secrets to making great Paella and a cooking class is the perfect way for a step-by-step demonstration,” he said. SPECIAL EVENT ITALIAN FOOD HONORING 2013 YEAR OF ITALIAN CULTURE IN THE U.S.
Italian food aficionados will be in heaven with the Friday, May 10 event bringing Maurizio Ferrarese of Quattro in Four Seasons, Renato De Pirro of Ristorante Cavour at Hotel Granduca, Giancarlo Ferrara of Arcodoro Restaurant and Houston guest, Roberto Lombardo of Ristorante Zys in Palermo together for a culinary tour through the Italy’s Piedmont, Tuscany, Campania and Sicily at the Four Seasons Hotel at 1300 Lamar. The dining event begins at 6:30 p.m. and costs $225 per person ($200 per person for ICCC members), plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

The event kicks off a week-long culinary celebration of Italy sponsored by the Italian Cultural & Community Center of Houston. A series of culinary programs will follow with a series of culinary programs including cooking classes for adults and children on Mediterranean influenced foods. BRUNCH FAVORITES AT HAVEN COOKING CLASS
Chef/co-owner of Haven, Randy Evans, is offering his own crash course in the Best of Brunch Cooking Class on Sunday, May 19 from 4-7 p.m. This fourth in a series of cooking classes offered by Evans will result in a show-stopping three-course brunch paired with wines. Classes will be held at Haven at 2502 Algerian Way. Cost is $60 per person. The next scheduled cooking class is June 23. Space is limited for the classes. To purchase a spot, call 713-581-6101.

ONGOING PRIVATE COOKING CLASSES AT QUATTRO
Executive Chef, Maurizio Ferrarese shares his culinary knowledge, talent and Italian heritage straight from the restaurant kitchen where attendees get hands-on experience in this intimate setting. Menu selections include pizza, pasta, risotto, ravioli, savory meats, seafood and more with these personalized classes that can accommodate from two to 16 people.

Availability and scheduling can fluctuate depending on the demands of Ferrarese’s schedule. Each class is two hours. Students eat what they prepare. In addition, the Quattro kitchen will prepare a salad and dessert along with a glass of wine all included in the cost. Costs range from $95 to $140 per person depending on menu choices and welcomes dates, parties, entertaining clients, team building exercises and bridal showers.
