Sources indicate that Olivia Nutter was near a group of girls at a school track meet when one of the girls told her to move. Moments later Nutter was allegedly punched in the head in the assault. Ciarra Ryan, 18, has been charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person over the incident. The girl's motive has not been revealed.
MSN Canada shares that Olivia's mother, Lisa Nutter, confirms that her daughter was assaulted, but says she is fine. After the mayor's daughter was assaulted Philadelphia police were brought to the scene and the girl who assaulted Olivia Nutter fled. She was apprehended about an hour later.
There is no indication whether Olivia Nutter, 18, had security detail at the time. Luckily despite the mayor's daughter being assaulted, she was not seriously injured and the assailant will be dealt with via the authorities.
