Jodi Arias will likely be convicted of Travis Alexander murder, says expert

Jodi Arias will likely be convicted of Travis Alexander murder, says expert, Jodi Arias, the woman accused of brutally murdering Arizona man Travis Alexander, will likely be convicted for his killing, a legal expert told Radar Online, according to an April 21, 2013 report.

Arias, 32, is on trial for the 2008 murder of former lover Alexander, 30. He was stabbed 27 times, his throat was slashed from ear-to-ear, and he was shot in the head. She claims she killed him in self-defense after he became violent with her.

Florida criminal defense attorney Mark Eiglarsh told Radar he believes jurors will find her guilty of first-degree murder and give her life behind bars.

He said, “When you look at the facts themselves, it just doesn’t pass the smell test. I can’t imagine they will excuse that conduct.”

In Arizona, jurors are allowed to ask questions of witnesses and the Arias jury has submitted hundreds of questions to various witnesses, including the accused murderer herself.

Eiglarsh noted that many of the questions asked indicate jurors are “…not only skeptical of her [Arias] story but also of the experts… There are, however, some questions that concern me because they presuppose certain facts as facts… it might just be a poorly worded question but might also mean they believe her. Those concern me.”

Nevertheless, he told Radar he still believes Arias is in trouble because of the manner in which Alexander was killed, saying, “…it doesn’t take… a lawyer to assess that when you have that many stab wounds and a shot to the head, and [a] gal who can remember every detail including what she drank at Starbucks seven years ago—but when it comes down to the critical details… she conveniently has a memory fog. “

Eiglarsh added that he thinks Arias is guilty and should be convicted, stating, “…I wouldn’t be surprised if they made life in prison the verdict…”
