Dorm room rifle factory: Student arrested after rifle factory discovery

Dorm room rifle factory: Student arrested after rifle factory discovery, A junior at NYU decided to make the most out of his dorm room by setting up a dorm room rifle factory that consisted of air rifles and imitation guns. According to a NY Daily News report on April 24, Bernard Goal, a 20-year-old Texan, apparently was unaware that he was doing anything wrong selling the guns for $500 each.

Bernard Goal, 20, has been charged with violating a local law that makes it against the law to possess or sell an air rifle or imitation pistol.

Police say they were alerted by NYU security after maintenance workers reported what they thought were numerous assault rifles laying on a bed in a student's dorm room.

The junior, who is originally from Sugar Town, Texas, was booked on five misdemeanor charges for violation of the local law that prohibits the possession of replica firearms, cops said.

Students in the downtown dorm were notified of the arrest via an email sent by university staff. Here's what one student had to say about the dorm room rifle factory arrest:

"Obviously it has to be concerning after everything that's happened, it has to be concerning," said one NYU student.
