Illinois shooting 5 dead, Five people are dead and one injured in a shooting Wednesday morning in the Village of Manchester, Illinois, according to Mayor Ronald Drake. The suspected shooter died later that morning following a shootout with authorities.

The Illinois State Police is leading the investigation.
Multiple schools were placed on lockdown. The Jacksonville School District 117 secretary to Superintendent Steve Ptacek said the school was closed in response to a recent shootout with the suspect on Woodson Winchester Road. North Greene Unit School District #3 was closed, and WLDS Radio reported Winchester schools had closed.
Manchester is located about 85 miles north of St. Louis. NewsChannel 5 will have more information when it becomes available.
