Cops 2-pound joint: Cops confiscate a massive joint during 4/20 celebration, recent video that was posted online shows authorities at the University of California, Santa Cruz campus confiscating what is said to be a 2-pound marijuana joint on Saturday. According to a report from KTVU on April 21, the incident happened on April 20, or 4/20, which is a day to identify oneself with the marijuana subculture.
The video shows a cop carrying the huge joint, while dozens of students walked alongside them.
“Oh dude, we’re going to court, man; we’re totally going to court,” one of the students said.
The video sharing site Liveleak.com reported that police took the joint because it violated the legal limit for carrying pot, which is one ounce.
Chief of Police Nadar Oweis told media sources: ”It’s not that we don’t want to shut it down, but it’s tougher because we have limited resources and the high cost it would take to completely stop the event, is not something we have right now.”
He also stated that it would be more costly to shut it down rather than to keep it going.
