Johnson City tow truck driver tows a baby to the impound, A Johnson City tow truck driver got a big shock when he towed a car from downtown to the impound early Sunday morning. According to a Johnson City Press.com, the driver of the tow truck found a 13-month-old baby in the impounded vehicle. He quickly called 911, and officers arrived to remove the baby with a lock jock tool.
The tow truck driver went back where he towed the car and located the parents, Gonzolo Campos-Molina, 22, and Violeta A. Arroyo, 24, both of 3806 Timberlake Road.
They were briefly reunited with their child before they were arrested later Sunday night on felony charges of abuse and neglect.
The parents claimed they had just run in Numan’s bar for a few minutes to look for someone. Although neither parent could name who they left to watch the baby, they said someone was supposed to be watching the baby at 2 a.m. when the car was towed.
The tow truck driver, Bobby Ferguson, from Cut Rate Towing, told WJTV.com that his wife actually first noticed the baby boy sitting in the front seat, and she proceeded to scream! The temperature was in the upper 30s to lower 40s when the child was left in the car.
The comments on the Johnson City Press.com article are very interesting as people debate whether the tow truck driver had any culpability for not checking the car before towing. Most comments are very disparaging of the parents.
