Boston suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, says not involved with terror groups, On April 22, 2013, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, told authorities he and his brother were not involved with any terror groups overseas, according to NBC News.
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow reports that Tsarnaev claims the two looked up how to make bombs online.
Authorities have been questioning Tsarnaev from his hospital since Sunday, according to reports.
He reportedly sustained a throat injury while on the run and has only been able to answer questions in writing.
His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, died April 18 after he and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, engaged in a standoff with law enforcement.
Prior to the encounter with police, authorities say the brothers carjacked a Mercedes SUV and told the driver they were the Marathon bombers.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev fled the shootout and was discovered Friday night in a boat in the backyard of a Watertown, Mass. family’s home. He reportedly had a number of serious injuries when recovered and was immediately transported to a local hospital where he now remains and is said to be communicating with authorities.
Wired reports that on Monday, he was charged with using a weapon of mass destruction.
